When Not to Use SmartGuard Auto Mode

Do not put your pump into SmartGuardTM Auto Mode if you have used the pump in the last 3 days to practice button pressing, or if basal insulin that was programmed into your pump was not your actual basal delivery. Doing so may result in the delivery of too little or too much insulin, which can cause hyperglycaemia or hypoglycaemia. SmartGuardTM Auto Mode uses the recent delivery history on your pump to determine the Auto Basal delivery amount you receive.
