We are pleased to offer insulin pump upgrades to customers who are currently in-warranty on a MiniMed Paradigm® 515/715 and 522/722 Insulin Pump. By upgrading you will receive a recertified MiniMed Paradigm 523 or 723 Insulin Pump with valuable new features.1
New Features
When upgrading from a MiniMed Paradigm 515/715 Insulin Pump to a MiniMed Paradigm 523/723 Insulin Pump, you will have access to:
- Precise Delivery
- Deliver multiple basal rates as low as 0.025 units/hr, and setup insulin-to-carbohydrate ratios as low as 1 to 1 to match your body's insulin needs.
- Missed Bolus Reminder
- If you tend to forget to take insulin for your meal, you can set a missed meal bolus reminder to help you avoid hyperglycemia after meals.
- Continuous glucose monitoring technology
- When using the optional MiniLink® transmitter and glucose sensor with your insulin pump, you will have access to:
- REAL-Time Alerts
- give you early warning, making it possible to avoid or minimize oncoming lows and highs.
- Predictive Alerts
- can be set to warn you up to 30 minutes before your low or high glucose limits are reached. According to a recent internal study, the use of predictive alerts improved hypoglycemic event detection by 36% compared to the low glucose alert alone.2-4
- Rate of Change Alerts
- let you know when glucose levels are changing rapidly.
- Low and High Alerts
- can be set at 8 different thresholds for different times throughout the day and night to warn you when the glucose level crosses the low or high limit you have set.
- REAL-Time Continuous Glucose Readings
- provide continuous awareness of your glucose values, every five minutes 24 hours a day. That's as if you took 288 fingersticks every day!
- REAL-Time Trend Graphs
- covering 3, 6, 12, and 24 hours give you a clear picture of your glucose levels over time, allowing you to clearly identify personal patterns.
- REAL-Time Trend Arrows
- show you the direction of your glucose level and the rate of change, enabling you to take early action against an oncoming low or high.
